We proudly have been part of Fracttal’s journey since 2021, supporting its growth in a €4.3M Series A round led by Seaya Ventures. But what exactly fueled this success? We chatted with Christian Struve, Fracttal’s CEO, to uncover the key strategies, challenges, and lessons behind their rapid growth: insights that can help other founders scale their companies.
What were the key drivers behind Fracttal’s growth?
The key to our growth has been a combination of product innovation, market expansion, and a customer-centric approach. We saw a growing need for smarter maintenance management solutions, and we focused on making our platform highly scalable and easy to integrate, with top-notch technology. Additionally, our expansion into multiple regions, particularly Latin America and Europe, helped us tap into new markets while maintaining a strong presence in our core geographies.
What specific strategies helped Fracttal scale so rapidly?
It was a mix of several strategies. We built a strong sales team with a structured go-to-market motion focused on mid-market and enterprise clients, ensuring we addressed their complex maintenance needs with a consultative approach. Strategic partnerships with key industry players and system integrators helped us scale faster by expanding our reach and credibility. Additionally, our ability to seamlessly integrate with enterprise systems, combined with a strong focus on customer success, drove high adoption rates and long-term retention, fueling our rapid growth.
How did you expand internationally, and what challenges did you face while scaling?
International expansion has always been a priority for us. We took a structured approach by first focusing on markets with strong demand for maintenance technology. One of the biggest challenges was adapting our go-to-market strategy to different regions. Each country has its own way of doing business, and localizing our approach in terms of sales, marketing, and customer support was key. Hiring the right talent in each market also played a huge role in overcoming these challenges.
What role did GoHub Ventures play in your growth?
GoHub Ventures has been a key partner in our growth, providing much more than just capital. Their network has opened doors to valuable industry connections and strategic partnerships, helping us scale more efficiently. Additionally, their support in optimizing our business model and navigating expansion challenges has been instrumental in accelerating our growth and strengthening our position in the market.
What were the biggest obstacles faced, and how did you overcome them?
Scaling a company comes with many challenges, but one of the biggest was ensuring operational efficiency while expanding. As we grew, maintaining a high level of customer support and product innovation required constant adaptation. We addressed this by investing in automation and AI-driven solutions to optimize our internal processes, allowing us to scale without compromising quality.
Did any failures shape key lessons, and what would you have done differently?
Absolutely, there were many lessons learned across almost every area of the company. One of the biggest was the importance of balancing speed with scalable processes in our growth. Given my background, I understood the need for structure, but in the early days of Fracttal, we scaled rapidly across multiple markets, sometimes without fully optimized processes for long-term scalability. For example, managing simultaneous international expansions proved more complex than anticipated, leading to operational inefficiencies. Over time, we refined our approach by building structured frameworks, leveraging data-driven decision-making, and ensuring we had the right local talent in place. If I could go back, I would focus even more on balancing speed with scalable processes earlier to make our global expansion smoother.
How did you build and scale Fracttal’s team while maintaining a strong company culture?
Company culture has been at the heart of Fracttal since day one. We focus on hiring people who not only share our vision and values but are also resilient, creative, and truly enjoy their work. We look for team players who are adaptable, passionate about technology, and eager to tackle complex challenges. As we scaled, we reinforced our culture through clear communication, leadership development, and fostering an environment where employees feel valued, empowered, and inspired to contribute. Maintaining this strong foundation has been key to attracting and retaining top talent in a fast-growing startup.
What advice would you give to startup founders looking to achieve similar growth?
Stay close to your customers and build a solution that truly addresses their needs. Growth is not just about acquiring more users; it’s about delivering consistent value so that customers become your biggest advocates. Also, surround yourself with a strong team and don’t be afraid to pivot when necessary.
“Growth is about delivering consistent value so that customers become your biggest advocates”
If you had to sum up Fracttal’s success in one key principle, what would it be?
Relentless customer focus. Everything we do is centered around providing real value to our customers. By understanding their challenges and continuously improving our solutions, we’ve been able to build long-term relationships that drive growth and innovation.
This means listening to customer feedback, iterating quickly based on their needs, and ensuring that every new feature or update genuinely enhances their experience. Our ability to deeply integrate with our customers’ workflows and provide tangible business improvements has led to strong retention and organic word-of-mouth growth.
We also prioritize building trust through transparency, reliability, and excellent support. Customers don’t just use our platform; they depend on it for their day-to-day operations, and that’s a responsibility we take very seriously. This relentless focus on customer success has been a major differentiator in our ability to scale sustainably.
What’s next for Fracttal?
We’re focused on accelerating our international expansion, with a short-to-mid-term goal of becoming the leading maintenance solution in both Latin America and Southern Europe, and a long-term vision of establishing ourselves as a global leader.
